No call back

I was called by one of the leaders and I like an idiot gave my personal information out. I have not heard back from anyone and now I am worried that someone is out there opening up all kinds of accounts... And like everyone below has mentioned. You get many calls and they don't let up. Bad mistake on my part. Last time I do this. Next time I am walking into a bank.

User's recommendation: Stay away from Leanding tree.

Social security

I filled up an application to refinance, I gave them all my info except for my social security number. I decided to give one of the million lenders that started calling my number a chance.. to my surprise that lender had my social security number and she said she was ready to run my credit.. I asked how they got my social security and she said that lending tree had given them my number. I called lending tree and ask how they were able to get my social security number without my consent and they said that I clicked something that gives them permission to get my social security number from the credit agencies..???? WTF??? Is this even legal..

User's recommendation: Be careful and read everything before doing business with them.

Avoid giving Lending Tree any personal information.

I went online to see how much I could save if I re-mortgaged my home. I was just interested in obtaining some rough figures. Lending Tree wanted my name, address, telephone number, credit rating, last 4 digits of my SS number along with other information. Within 5 minutes the calls started from AmeriSave, Reliance, Quicken Loan, Loan Depot and 3 or 4 other mortgage companies. I do not answer unsolicited calls. (I am also getting my email spammed) I received 27 calls within the first three hours. They keep coming non-stopRe-fi. BEWARE giving out any information to Lending Tree.

100% agree with this review. Same experience.

Almost immediately and ever since I have been getting spam calls on my phone- prior to using LendingTree I almost never received these calls. In addition, the "results" of, my submission to them were two non-competitive offers. Even their "service" was useless to me.

In my opinion, Lending Tree is nothing more than a way to collect and sell personal information. My advice- stay away from them!

I was scammed twice through lending tree lending partners, embarrassingly enough, within the same week. They provide official looking documents, but there is nothing legit about them.

I was left with no cash and a lower credit score. Stay away.

Applied for a home equity loan. Submitted all the required paperwork and received a pre approval. UNTIL they sent their appraiser out to my home and undervalued it over 100,000 dollars. Suddenly my home went from a worth of approx. 220,000 dollars to 114,000 at the...

Follow up to my Review of last December. In March of this year I applied for and received the home equity loan from a local bank who sent a qualified Home appraiser out here and appraised my home at the real worth of over 200,000, giving me a low interest loan.

Lending Tree is still spamming me with e mails. They really tried to put the screws to me with their shady appraisal and high interest offer based on that incorrect sloppy appraisal. Even had my home listed in a whole other district and a twin with no garage and in the picture their appraiser took you can clearly see a single home with attached garage. They got the school district wrong as well as the town I live in.

How sloppy is that? Don't use Them.

Online quote

Some anonymous website entices with a ridiculously low rate for a 15 year rate. You enter the site and it drags you through several questions including personal information only to lead you to a phone number that says “call now “ to some 800 number. Not a research site just a come on. Shameful. Waste of time.

He put fake checks into my account because I didn’t know how wire transfer worked. Now I’m stuck paying -$700.00. To my bank because my bank never caught the errors on the check.
